Program Details

Harmony Preschool uses emergent curriculum which allows the interests of students to guide in-depth projects, and encourages collaboration for students to work together using dialogue, comparisons, negotiations and respect. Building a strong sense of community inside and outside the classroom is supported throughout the school year. The low student to teacher ratio allows more individual time with each student to help them have the best early childhood school experience.

Harmony Preschool is focused on kindergarten preparedness and follows the Oregon Early Learning and Kindergarten Guidelines to make sure each graduating student will be ready for Kindergarten.

The classroom environment is Reggio-inspired where the curriculum is flexible, hands-on, and largely interest based. To learn more about the Reggio Emelia method check out these articles:

Beginner Spanish is incorporated into daily lessons and includes colors, counting, animal names and more. Music Class helps students develop and fine tune their motor skills and body control through songs and movement.  Students are introduced to rhythm, pitch, dynamics, keeping a beat with rhythm sticks, and more. Harmony Preschool partners with local artists to provide exposure to mediums from pottery to water-colors. Monthly Cooking Club creates budding chefs as students prepare a delicious crockpot dinner, dessert, or snack for their family. Harmony Preschool will add enrichment activities throughout the year based on the interests of the students.
